Potato supplier Branston Ltd has invested a further £200,000 in its
production site near Lincoln.
Branston has purchased a state-of-the-art Odenberg optical grader to enable
production to be increased. The machine, called the Titan, uses automated
image analysis techniques to sort different grades of potatoes in one swift
pass.
Mark Willcox, Development Director at Branston said, “The Titan is perfect
for high quality, high volume processing. It will complement our current
operations and allow us to increase our capacity for smaller salad potatoes.
Productivity will be maximized, whilst achieving a high level of accuracy in
sorting the different grades of product.”
This latest investment is further assurance that Branston is looking forward
to a bright future, with a new 2,500m2 high-care factory, which
will produce prepared potato products at the Lincoln site, opening in July.
Branston is confident that its £500,000 investment in the most advanced
production equipment available for the new prepared facility, and the latest
addition of the Titan grader for its fresh potato processing, will enable
the company to meet the increasing demands of its retail customers.
