Northern Foods plc announced the appointment of Andrew Booker as Group Finance Director.  Andrew joins the Group on 13 October 2008 from Japan Tobacco International Inc/Gallaher plc where he was European Finance Director, a role he held for the past three years.  He will assume the role of Group Finance Director on 17 November 2008 and will join the Board at that time.

Andrew replaces Jez Maiden who, as previously announced, will leave Northern Foods in November to become Group Finance Director at National Express Group plc.

Andrew, brings a wealth of experience gained from senior financial, sales and general management roles with Gallaher Group over 19 years.  He has worked in the UK, Spain and Austria during his career.  Andrew is married with two children.
