New Strategy Director
for Sainsbury's
Sainsbury's has appointed Luke Jensen (41) to the newly created role of
director of strategy. He will join Sainsbury's in mid April 2008 and will
report into chief executive Justin King.
Luke is currently a partner and head of the retail & consumer
practice at the strategy consulting firm OC&C. In this role, he has
advised the boards of many leading UK and International retail and FMCG
companies and private equity groups. Between this role and an earlier stint
at OC&C, Luke co-founded and led M8 Group, a specialist internet retail
company comprising petplanet.co.uk and greenfingers.com. He started his
career in 1988 at the French investment bank Banque Paribas as a manager in
acquisition finance.
Justin King, Sainsbury's chief executive said: "I'm delighted to
welcome Luke to the Company. He brings a wealth of consumer and retail
experience which will be invaluable as we progress to the next stage of our
growth plans. We look forward to the significant contribution he will make
to the business."
