Premier Foods sells Jonker Fris

Cambs-based Premier Foods has announced that it has completed the sale of Jonker Fris BV and Premier Foods BV to NPM Capital BV.

Jonker Fris, based in The Netherlands, manufactures and sells canned vegetables and fruit principally for private label customers in The Netherlands and Germany. The book value of the gross assets of the companies being sold was £17.3m at 2 July 2005.

"The sale of Jonker Fris is in line with our strategy of actively managing our portfolio of businesses to focus on leading UK brands with leading market positions and growth potential," said Robert Schofield, chief executive of Premier, when the sale was announced.
