Premier Foods buys Cauldron

Cambs-based Premier Foods has announced its acquisition of Cauldron Foods, the manufacturer of branded, chilled meat-free products, from Rayner & Co for £27.0m, satisfied through a cash payment.

Premier indicated that the Cauldron brand would sit alongside its existing healthy eating brand, Quorn.

Chief executive Robert Schofield said, "Cauldron’s strong position in tofu and vegetable-based products will further enhance our position in the high-growth, healthy eating market and will be highly complementary to our Quorn brand."
