Tango, trick or treat? Gotans coming to your store

Tango, from Essex-based Britvic Soft Drinks is bringing four Gotans to the soft drinks market, just in time for Halloween! Gotans Huey, Rosco, Vernon and Milton are part of a Tango promotion commencing in October.

Building on the popularity of urban toys, the Gotans are four high quality character models with a distinct Tango-edge. Innovative, original and perfect for Halloween, they will be available to consumers via a category-exclusive on-pack promotion. Consumers simply call the Gotans hotline to order a Gotan by mail, complete with its own bespoke box and character ID card all for only £2.99.

"Halloween is a major event in any retailer’s calendar, providing a significant growth opportunity," said Britvic’s carbonates controller, Adrian Troy. "Sales of Halloween themed products exceeded £100m in 2004. Halloween is a popular event amongst teens, with more than 70 per cent of Tango’s target audience of 12 to 18 year olds suggesting they will celebrate Halloween this year."

"It’s a fun and engaging promotion that is sure to grab the consumer’s attention," said Troy.

The on-pack promotion will be supported with a Gotans website, giving consumers the chance to download Halloween party invitations, masks, games and other activities, all of which bring the Gotans to life.
